Introduction from the President

Welcome to The Playhouse as in 2012 Hobart Repertory Theatre Society
brings you another season of great entertainment at great prices. Prepare to be amused and bedazzled, solve mysteries and gain insights, to laugh and maybe cry a little, but above all, to be entertained.

We start with the delightful quirkiness of The Flint Street Nativity by Tom Firth followed by the popular musical Cabaret. The longest- running play ever, The Mousetrap by Agatha Christie, provides the element of mystery. The wit of Noel Coward is to be found in Waiting In The Wings and the subscription season is rounded off with Soulmates by Australian playwright David Williamson. With these last two plays we are trialling Wednesday to Saturday performances with the Wednesdays discounted, instead the more usual Tuesday to Saturday.

Further entertainment is to be found in the annual Comedy Debate. OneFest, the Hobart Rep/Old Nick co-produced one-act festival, opens performance and writing opportunities to the experienced and relative novice alike. Of course there will be a pantomime.

Experiencing live theatre is made easy with our subscriptions voucher system. An extra special rate is available for secondary students. You might consider a $20 membership which not only supports the Society but also gives you extra discounts.

I look forward to seeing you at The Playhouse. I know you will enjoy the experience in the ambience of this special theatre. Let yourself be entertained.
